Merry Christmas!

We had a great Christmas with family.

We started out the festivities at my parents at the beginning of the week. We stayed at my parents. My sister Kristi and her husband Jon were here from California and Teri was home from school. Teri's boyfriend even came down for a couple days. We went to Temple Square to see the lights on Wednesday night. It was snowing, but great. We rode the Front Runner (train) down and Ian had fun. Rex, Ian, and I also went to the Church History Museum and met Bradley and Kati there.

We celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve with my parents. Ian was very excited to open his presents. He got a race track thing with shake and go cars, which he loves, and other toys. The clothes weren't so exciting, but nice. We got some baby clothes for the new baby also. I got a hair trimmer, so I will try that soon, but am kind of scared to. Rex got a GPS, which is great since we are moving to a place we have never been.

We spent the night at our own apartment that night and had our own little Christmas at home, with stockings and presents. We then left and came to Rex's parents' house. Everyone was here and we were able to talk to Danielle (Rex's sister on a mission). We were able to do a video cal via Skype. We then opened stockings and presents. We spent the day playing games and hanging out together.

Today we went sledding with Christen and Alex. Ian had a blast and did not want to come back home. He even went down the hill several times by himself. Hopefully I can get sledding pictures up soon.

We are now waiting for this baby to be born soon (hopefully within this next week so Rex will be here). Rex starts his new job (training) next Sunday and we are excited.

We're Moving!

So I tried to post this awhile ago and then Rex told me he wasn't ready yet, but now we are. Rex got offered a job with TSA (airport security) a small airport in Colorado. He starts January 3, so he will be leaving after New Years. Hopefully this baby will decide to come a little early so Daddy can be here when he is born. I will stay with my parents with the boys until probably the end of January, hopefully Rex will have found a place to live by then (or before then). Our apartment contract doesn't end until the end of January here, so we will pack our things slowly and with the help of family. We are excited to have a full time job. We hope that Rex's work schedule will allow him to work part time for the city recreation department, to keep getting experience.

We will be living in a small town. Rex has never lived in a small town, so he doesn't know about it, but I grew up in a small town, so I am great with it.

Mary Lou Christiansen

Grandma Christiansen passed away Sunday morning in her sleep. The past few years have been hard for her with many different health problems. Her husband (my grandpa) passed away some 30 years ago. She is now reunited with him and I'm sure very happy.

I will miss her. I remember her coming to visit us in Michigan. She stayed with me and Kristi when Teri was born. She was always very happy to see us and hear from us. She made sure that she always sent us a birthday card and Christmas presents. She liked doing things with her hands, especially crocheting, which is probably where Mom and I get it from.

I remember visiting her in the summers in Idaho. We always loved to go up there. She always made sure that we were comfortable and made us good food.

She was very thoughtful and would randomly send notes or cards. She wanted to know what was going on in our lives. I know she loved me and I loved her very much.

I wanted to want until I had pictures, but I don't know where Rex put the camera and I am bored.
Last Monday we went to the Christmas Village downtown here in Ogden. We met my parents there. It was really nice but kind of cold (but not like this week, Brrrr). We got there a little early for Santa, but wanted in the short line. Ian was excited to see Santa. As soon as he got on Santa's lap though, he was silent (weird for Ian) and looked so solemn (I wanted to post the picture, but I guess I will have to later).
Saturday morning we went to Breakfast with Santa in South Weber. Rex had to work it and so Ian and I tagged along. Ian ran up to Santa and sat in his lap, but again he was silent and wouldn't say a word. He is funny. There was a big bouncy thing there also that Ian loved and spent most of the time in.
When Rex was setting up, he put the basketball hoops up. Ian of course noticed this and "had to fix it." He wanted a stool to fix it himself. I thought this was funny, as it was way high up. The whole time he would randomly mention that we "had to fix it." He is so funny when something needs "fixed." He gets so determined and will not let it drop until it is fixed. Just tonight one of the lights burned out, so it needs a new battery (that's what things need when they are broken). He kept mentioning it and I kept telling him we have to buy a new light bulb. I'm sure I will hear plenty about it tomorrow.
After Breakfast with Santa, we rode the front runner down to South Jordan to join Rex's family at a work Christmas party (for his mom). Ian loved riding the train. We saw the new Christmas Carol movie. It was okay. Rex really liked it. Ian sat and ate popcorn the whole time and somehow did not get sick. At least the popcorn was not buttered. He was restless on the way back on the train though, which made for a long ride.
Friday night Rex and I went to his work Christmas party. It was a nice dinner (at the Family Activity Center). It was nice to met some of the people Rex works with.

My grandma passed away Sunday morning. The graveside service (no funeral, according to her wishes) will be tomorrow. So we are heading up to Idaho tomorrow morning (hopefully the snow will stop by then). I am also waiting for my sister to come, she is driving from California.
