First Snow

Monday morning Ian came up the stairs, “It’s snowing.” We didn’t really believe him, but we looked outside and couldn’t believe our eyes. We had about 3 inches of snow in the backyard and more was coming down. It was a beautiful snow fall, the big flakes. Once it stopped snowing, Ian wanted to go outside and play. He was so excited.

We made a little snowman. Ian also made several snow angels, but I didn’t get a picture of any, they were actually snow Ians not angels.

Our neighbors had left their bike out and I thought it looked pretty cool with the snow on it.

I love snow coating the trees.

When Jaiden woke up from his nap, we bundled him up and brought him out. He wasn’t sure what to think, mostly of not being able to move very easily.

I told Ian to smile and this is what he did.

9 Month Stats

Jaiden had his 9 month check up today. He is 27 inches and 17 lbs 8 oz. I think the doctor said his height was in the 25th percentile. I didn’t ask about what percentile his weight is in because I didn’t want to go into weight issues if he had dropped in percentiles. She said he looks healthy.

Things about Jaiden at 9 months:

-Has 7 teeth (working on one more, so it will be eight)

-Dislikes baby food, but loves to eat the food we eat

-Crawls

-Pulls himself up on everything and gets into everything

-Loves playing with Ian

-Good traveler in the car now (most of the time)

-Loves to be outside

-Loves animals

-Knows how to get out of naps (look up all cute like at mom and start “talking”)

Root Beer Floats

This video says it all, Jaiden loves root beer floats. He loves ice cream, Ian doesn’t really like ice cream (too cold for more than a couple bits).

Random Pictures of Ian and Jaiden

Ian did not want to smile that day.

October 2010 007

I love how it looks like Ian is trying to tell Jaiden something and Jaiden looks mad about it.

One of Ian’s lego creations, probably a robot since that’s what they are most of the time.

October 2010 015

Jaiden loves standing up and pulling himself up, especially on things we would rather he didn’t.

Jaiden was super smiley for pictures.

Finally got a smile out of Ian.

Teri and Josh

My sister Teri and her husband Josh came to visit this past weekend, since it was fall break for Josh. They got here Friday evening, just in time for dinner. We watched How to Train Your Dragon. Ian didn’t stay up to watch it all, he told me he wanted to go to bed. Saturday, Teri and I took the boys and went to the church for Super Saturday. Josh stayed to work on a paper and Rex was at work. I made a couple cute things, which I will have to take pictures of and post later, a picture block and a picture frame. Teri watched Ian and Jaiden while I did the crafts.

We then met Rex and Josh at the Wyman Museum for the Pumpkin Festival. Of course the major hit for Ian was the “Bounce House.” Rex brought the camera, I just didn’t think about taking pictures. There was a small hay stack maze and a tractor/train thing that Ian got to ride on. We looked at the museum and saw the elk that lives up on the hill by it.

We then drove to Steamboat, went to the bottom of the mountain and walked around, everything was closed. Then we went downtown and walked around a little bit.

Teri and Josh went to Sacrament meeting with me. It was the Primary Program, so they got to take care of Ian and Jaiden while I sat up on the stand with my class. Thanks you guys, I know Ian wasn’t too happy, but I sure appreciated it.

My Birthday

My birthday was last Thursday.  It was a good day. Rex got me a set of springform pans (this is what I told him to get me). I made a cheesecake the next day in one of them. We got a babysitter and went out to eat. We got to the restaurant at 4:45 to find out they don’t open until 5. So we walked over to the library, which was a block away and looked at some books and I checked one out. We then went back to the restaurant. We were the first ones there, it was kind of weird. It was an Italian restaurant that I have been wanting to go to. We had a 2 for 1 coupon and we still spent $40. The food was good though. We then walked around main street a little bit. We ended up spending time at a book store. We like books and I love book stores. My mother-in-law sent me the Worldwide Ward Cookbook. It looks like it has some good recipes, but I haven’t tried any yet.

Tree Story

So I totally forgot to post about this when it happened. We often go to Steamboat on Rex’s day off. We go to the library, park (eat lunch), and grocery, plus any other errands we might have. Well, about a month ago. We were at the park across the river from the library, when all of a sudden we heard this big crack. We look up and see that a tree by the river had fallen across the river. Likely it fell away from the park. It did land on a bench on the other side, but there was no one there. So a couple days later, I went with the boys to play group at a park in Craig, and Ian says, “That tree is going to fall.” I don’t think he will forget this anytime soon. Whenever we are at the park with the fallen tree, he says that we knocked the tree down.
