Teri's Gaduation and Last Day of School

My youngest sister, Teri, graduated from high school yesterday. The graduation was pretty nice, except when the choir was trying to sing and people (probably the high schoolers attending) were shouting/cheering people in the choir. I found that very rude. Ian wouldn't sit still, he loved running around. He didn't want me to follow him though. Our cousin Lis also graduated with Teri so we sat with her family as well. We went out to eat at Chuck a Rama afterwards. There was 14 people in our group. Ian had to sit by Teri. He was upset when we had to leave Teri so Rex could go to work. He loves playing with Teri and being with her, most of the time.

Yesterday was also the last day of school. We just moved books from one end of the school to the other end. Wednesday was field day and I forgot sunscreen and got burned. I also decided that I am not working next year.

This week

1. School ending.
2. Family bbq today.
3. Teri's graduation.
4. Field day on Wednesday, it will probably be tiring though.
5. Going shopping with Teri for cake stuff.

My sister Kristi and her husband came this weekend. They went to church with us yesterday. They helped us in nursery and they were great. The kids loved playing with them.

I'm so glad

I'm so glad I did not mop the floor this morning like I wanted to. This morning was kinda hectic, so it didn't get done. The floor was bad. I don't like the tile floor we have here. You can see the dirty spots and it is a pain. I have to mop at least once, but usually twice a week.
I was then going to mop when I got home from work, only I didn't feel like it. I went into our storage/furnace/water heater room to get our fan out (it was 90 today, yuck). I discovered water on the floor, gross water. So I called maintenance and they came. They said it was because of the laundry room which is by our apartment. So in the process of getting it working right so it wasn't backed up, they had to do something with the kitchen sink, I have no idea what. They got my kitchen floor all wet and dirty. When I went to mop the floor tonight, I discovered under the sink is now gross. So needless to say, I mopped the kitchen floor tonight, it could not wait any longer.
I still need to tackle the storage room, but I think I will wait until Rex is home so he can help me. I think we will have to move everything out and then mop. Also, they got the carpet in the hall wet and a little dirty, harder to clean. But at least they came right away and fixed the problem. Maintenance here is good. We call and then come and fix things quickly. They fixed our toilet when it broke a couple weeks ago. When my toilet in Heritage Halls broke in the same way, they didn't really fix it so it kept happening until we called Anna's grandpa to come fix it. Here, they replaced the chain (which had been fixed previously with a twisty tie, probably by previous tenants),

What I am looking forward to

1. Getting the drain fixed (hopefully soon, they are working on it right now)
2. Three day weekend
3. Anna's bridal shower (I still have planning to do)
4. School ending next week

They just finished fixing the drain and now I can think about making dinner. It was the drain by the water heater that was backing up, because we are by the laundry room and they had to do stuff with the kitchen sink to. Hopefully it won't be too messy to clean up.

Ian's 2 years old!

Yesterday, on Mother's day, was Ian's birthday. We talked to him about his birthday all week and he was excited. Rex and I got him a new (from DI) pair of tennis shoes and church shoes since he was growing out of his old ones. We also got him a Wiggles guitar and a tie.Here is Ian all ready for church, with his new shoes and tie.

We sang Happy Birthday to him in nursery, he was happy about that. Once he realized what we were singing, he got this big smile.
My parents and sister came over for dinner. We had pizza, one of Ian's favorite foods. He was excited to open his presents. I have to see if Rex can post the video of him opening his presents. He got a couple shirts and shorts. The shorts are slightly too big. The ones he wore today kept falling off. He got an aquarium night light, which he loves because the fish move. Teri got him some sandals and a bubble set.
I made him a basketball cake. I had problems making this. First, when I dumped the cake out of the pan, it cracked. Then when I picked it up after cooling, I noticed goop that had come out. Come to find out when we cut the cake, it had no middle. Then, I used the icing mix that came with the cake pan and it was way to thin and was really hard to thicken so I did not do not all in stars like I was going to. Moral of the story: I am not going to use an icing mix ever again.

Ian was excited to blow his two candles. It took many blows, but he eventually did it all by himself. I forgot to record him blowing out his candles.

Mother's Day

Rex got me these flowers for Mother's Day/our anniversary. They came on Thursday. They are mini flowers and very nice. The bigger ones in the picture are fake and we have them on the table all the time.Our microwave has been dying. It is old, probably at least 10 years. I got it from my parents because when they moved into their house there was a built in microwave. So Rex and Ian went out and bought my a new microwave to replace our old one. I love this one. I haven't tried popping popcorn yet, our old one burned it. I also like the color of this one better. I am not a big fan of dark kitchen appliances. I like things light and to have lots of light.

In nursery, the kids made hand prints with paint to give to their moms along with a little poem. It was so funny to watch them do it. One kid did not want his hand painted, but I sorta convinced him and we did it quick. Ian loved having paint on his hand.

Weldon Earl Cisney

My grandpa Cisney passed away this morning. He was 86 years old. I will miss him. He went into hospice care on Monday this week. Ian and I were able to go see him on Tuesday night. I didn't think he was that bad then, but my dad said he was. The next day he became unconscious.

I remember when we lived in Michigan and Grandpa and Grandma would come out and visit us several times a year. In the mornings, I would go with them the Big Boys, a restaurant like JBs out here. We would go early. If we went later in the day I would always get spaghetti and a hot fudge sundae, Grandma and I would share the hot fudge sundae. Grandpa always had gum and he would share with us. He would always tease my sister Teri and take her blanket from her and hide it. She loved that blanket. He would also "catch" us and not let us go. My sisters and I would always want to sleep in the same room as them when they were here. I don't know why, since we couldn't sleep since they both snored loudly.

He was baptized when my dad was 12. He had had a heart attack. After that he stopped smoking and was baptized. He loved his family and worked hard for them.

Celebtrating Our Anniversary

We actually celebrated our anniversary a couple weeks ago, on the weekend of Rex's birthday. It was because this weekend is just too busy. We went down to Salt Lake and stayed at the Armstrong Manor, a bed and breakfast, for two nights. Ian stayed with my parents and did great. I forgot to take any pictures of the place, but you can click on the title of this post to see pictures. We stayed in the Cherished Years Room. The place was nice and cozy. Some rooms were a lot more elaborate than the one we stayed in. It was great to get away for a couple days.
We were able to do a session at the Salt Lake Temple, where we were married. It was a Saturday and the session was full, there was a ton of people. It took like two and a half hours.

4 th Anniversary

We have been married 4 years today. It has been a great four years. We have both graduated and we have Ian. I love being married to Rex, he is my best friend. He is wonderful. He works hard and helps out around the house, especially with Ian.

Things I'm looking forward to and HELP

I know it is already Tuesday, but here is what I am looking forward to:
1. Bradley's graduation (I've never been to the U of U campus and get to see it)
2. Getting a pedicure with my mom
3. Participating in the primary activity on Saturday
4. Ian's birthday, going shopping for Ian
5. Mother's Day

I'm thinking about selling some things on Etsy. I am thinking about doing cross stitch with different sayings to display, but I need ideas on different sayings I could use. I have a list, but they seem so cliche to me. Also, does anyone know if sayings are copyrighted, or can I use them?
