Santa

Santa came to visit at the library during story time last week. They read some Christmas stories and sang some songs before he arrived.

Ian was very excited to see Santa. As soon as he saw him, Ian went up to him and walked with him to the seat where Santa sat.

He would not say a word to Santa while he was on his lap, he talked to him before he sat on his lap though. Ian just wanted the gift bag they were giving to all the kids.

This is a girl from my Sunbeam class that lives here in Hayden. She whispered what she wanted into Santa’s ear.

Jaiden didn’t know what to think and cried a little, until Ian showed him his balloon and then Jaiden wanted the balloon.

Jaiden had fun playing. Oh and Mom, the Christmas outfit fits Jaiden pretty well, the pants are slightly too big, but they work.

What the boys like to do

When we are in the basement playing, Jaiden will always start up the stairs and Ian will go with him. Ian goes on the side that doesn’t have a wall so Jaiden won’t fall. If I don’t follow them fast enough up the stairs, this is what they end up doing most of the time:

Ian will help Jaiden climb up on the tub and they will stand there and play in the piano. Jaiden loves pressing all the buttons to see what happens.

Snow, Snow, Snow

We have gotten a lot of snow the past week. Last Wednesday it snowed all day. We had a break Thursday and Friday but it was freezing cold. It started snowing again Saturday, Sunday was more rain, Monday and Tuesday snow. It really isn’t snowing much this morning. Rex and Ian worked on the snow fort in the backyard yesterday, Rex started this several weeks ago when it snowed but now it is finished. Ian loves the snow, but it is so deep it is hard for him to walk. I should have gotten a picture of the snow on the car, I bet there was at least a foot and a half, from Monday and Tuesday (since we came home from church Sunday night).

This kind of gives you an idea how much snow we got in a day and a half. (plus all the snow that was in the backyard from before).

Jaiden was not liking being in the snow yesterday. Ian was happy.

Once Ian got cold enough or tired, he came in and had hot chocolate and Jaiden got pans out of the cupboard.

Thanksgiving and other Things

We had our own little Thanksgiving at our house. I enjoyed making the meal. Jaiden loved the sweet potatoes. Ian has decided this year that he does not like turkey, I don't think he tried any though.

Other than that we have been getting ready for Christmas. We got our stuff on Black Friday via internet, it was great not having to leave home. Though I did take the boys to Walmart later in the morning. I like being in a small town, it wasn't crowded at all and there was still a lot of stuff left. We have our tree and other Christmas decoration up. Ian has been very excited for Christmas.

Last week I was sick after eating too much sugar and junk one day. It took several days for me to recover and I am finally better and have all my energy back.

We have also been trying to get Jaiden to sleep through the night. It has been going better than the first two times we tried, but not perfect. I think he has slept through the night only once (well, he got up at 5:40 to eat and then went back to sleep, which I am totally fine with).
