Ian Riding His Bike

Remember how I said we got Ian a bike for his birthday, well he is doing much better at riding it. Rex even got a video of him riding. He does need to work on steering though.

Random Things From the Last Week

I had the car last week, since Rex car pooled with the guy from our ward that works with him. Last Thursday, I took the boys to the library, we stopped and got the mail, and made a quick trip to the grocery store. I like the grocery store here in Hayden, though it is a little more expensive. They have carts just Ian’s size, so he heads straight for one as soon as we are in the store and since we usually don’t get very much there, that is the only cart we need.

Friday we played at the park a couple times. It was been gorgeous lately. Saturday we went to the church for a primary activity and good will exchange. The activity was fun. Ian got to make a couple Father’s Day presents. One I still need to glue together again, this time with hot glue. I didn’t find much at the exchange, but did get Ian a jacket since all his are getting too small. I also found a book on making a quiet book with the months of the year, so hopefully I will get around to that soon.

Sunday was church and a little crazy since I drove by myself. I had to wake Ian up to get him in the church. He wasn’t too happy about that. Thankfully there are wonderfully helpful people at church to help me with the boys until Rex comes. Sadly, he won’t be able to go to church this Sunday, as they are working different hours because of Memorial Day.

Monday was raining and thus spent inside all day. Tuesday we went to Steamboat, to the library, park, and grocery shopping. Ian loved the library, it has a great kids section and tons of DVDs to check out.

Yesterday we went to play group. There were only three of us (women) there. Last week there were seven of us there and we were in the nursery since the Elders were playing basketball in the gym (one Elder sprained his ankle playing). This week we were in the gym though.

Sleeping- There were a few nights that Jaiden slept bad, getting up 4-6 times a night. And of course on those nights, Ian had to wake up to. The last two nights, Jaiden has been doing much better, only waking up twice. Ian woke up once last night, but it was good since Rex didn’t hear his alarm, so Ian woke me up and I woke Rex up when I got up. Ian is still asleep and it was almost 7:30! Jaiden is awake though. Ian’s usually up first so this is weird.

Jaiden loves to have Ian play with him and pay attention to him. He watches Ian all the time. If I take a picture of the two of them, it is hard to get Jaiden to look at the camera, as he just wants to look at Ian.

It’s Spring Finally!

You can’t really see it in this picture, but the trees are finally getting buds on them! I am excited about this. When we went to Utah, I was happy to see the blooming trees there and now they are finally budding here!

This past week has been pretty good weather wise, I think only one day with snow. Tomorrow it is supposed to get up to 70. We had rain yesterday morning, but we were able to go to the park in the afternoon. Ian loves to play outside and Jaiden is getting happier when he is outside, as long as the sun is not in his face. I went for a walk around our neighborhood Friday morning. I am not a huge fan of hills, but that is what our road is.

A family moved into our group of townhomes here this past week. Thursday, Rex told me the guy works with him at the airport. He is the new lead there. Friday, he told me they are LDS! I’m excited. They have the same work scheduled, so he can only come to the last hour and half of church as well. But his wife and three kids will be there. Their kids are 5, 2 1/2, and 8 months, so kids to play with Ian. We went over and met them Friday afternoon. That know brings up the active members/families in Hayden up to 4 (1 is a widow and Sister Jackson, who gives me a ride on Sundays, her husband isn’t a member).

So Thankful and Blessed

I’ve been thinking all week about how thankful I am for my husband and boys. I am grateful they are healthy and happy and growing well. I’ve especially been thinking about this as a boy that I grew up with in Michigan has lost his baby this week (he was born still born). He and his family have been in my prayers all week. But it has also made me realize how blessed I am and thankful for my blessings.

We took the boys in for their well visits this week. Jaiden is in the 25-50 percentile for height and weight. Ian is in the third, but that is no surprise. The doctor said everything looks good and they are both healthy.

Jaiden rolled from his tummy to back three times last Sunday and didn’t do it again until yesterday and anytime on his tummy, he would roll over (sometimes takes awhile because he usually likes being on his tummy).

I love this picture of Ian, it shows his personality. Ian’s birthday was yesterday. It was a great day. It was rainy off and on but we were still able to play outside some. We got Ian a bike, which he loves. He is still learning how to work the pedals. He was so excited when he saw it. I also made him a car racetrack cake.

We are so grateful to have Ian in our family. He is such a happy boy and so full of energy. He loves to help in any way he can.

Jaiden is now four months old and he is a happy baby.

Jaiden’s Blessing

We blessed Jaiden in my parents’ ward last Sunday. My whole family was there and So was Rex’s. Rex’s sister Felicia took these pictures.

5 Years and Counting!

Yesterday was our 5th anniversary. (This is the only picture I could find on this computer with the two of us, all our other pictures are on the other computer that is not connected to the internet). We had a girl from our ward come babysit last night. We went to a spa and got a half hour massage, which was great. We then went out to eat at an Italian restraunt. It was good food and good that it was 2 for 1 otherwise it would have cost a lot. It was fun and we are happy. I am so glad that we got married in the temple.

The boys were good for the babysitter. Jaiden actually took the bottle. Ian sounded like he had fun. The only mishap was that Ian spilled red Gatorade on the living room carpet. Ian was so excited when we came home. According to him we went and played basketball. He also kept calling the babysitter "Person." He said, "Person left." Silly boy.

Teri’s Wedding

We went to Utah last week for my sister Teri’s wedding.

They were married on May 1 at the Bountiful Temple. It was raining when we drove to the temple. As we went up the mountain, it started snowing. Luckily, after the ceremony and we were out of the temple, it was sunny.

After the temple ceremony, we went back to my parents’ house for the ring ceremony. They had the ring ceremony for his parents, since they couldn’t be in the temple with them. The parents all said a a few words and they exchanged rings.

We then had the reception at the church. Good thing we had it planned inside as it started raining at the end. Teri and I made the wedding cake.

Of course the car was decorated. Ian was outside with those who did it and they took a picture of him on the car. So now he says that he was the one who painted the car, though it doesn’t look like a 2 year old did it. I didn’t help decorate the car because I was feeding Jaiden when they decided to do it and didn’t tell me. Sadly, it started raining when Teri and Josh came outside, so most of it had washed off.
