Lately

We’ve moved! Rex got a promotion here at a small airport in Dubuque, Iowa. Rex got the offer about a week after Kathryn was born. We have been busy packing, moving, and unpacking.

Dubuque has about 60,000 people. so it is much bigger than where we were in Colorado. The city is right on the Mississippi River, near the Illinois and Wisconsin borders. It is very green and hilly here. It was quite warm and humid last week, so far this week has been nice.

My mom was able to stay with us for almost a week when we came out, which was nice especially since Rex was out of town for training. We are now closer to my sister and she and her son are visiting this week!

Kathryn is growing well. She does good sleeping some nights (in fact sleeping through the night like 3 times) and not so well other nights. She has rolled from her back to stomach three times (it has been almost a week since she last did this, so maybe those times were flukes). She smiles a lot and coos a lot.

Jaiden is getting used to not being the baby. He is finally consistently sleeping through the night. He talks a lot and likes to scream for no reason what so ever.

Ian is adjusting pretty well. He is done with preschool (since we moved with one month left). He is very excited for his birthday tomorrow and for kindergarten in the fall.

Ian loves to hold Kathryn. Both boys love to give her hugs and kisses. Jaiden will not give anyone else (including me) a kiss, but he will kiss Kathryn a lot.

We went to the zoo in Des Moines, don’t worry, we moved Kathryn to the sling soon after this so she could sleep, she was too tired to keep her head up.
